MAKEUP MONDAY
SUNSHINE EYES
Happy Monday everybody! The weather looks like it's officially changing over to match the season so cheers to weather that promotes good morale. It's easier to feel better when it feels good outside, for some reason that's just true. As you know we are navigating life with this critically acclaimed yellow hair LOL! I'm enjoying the life of exploration and figuring out what will and won't work. Hopefully more people will come to the blog and just kind of browse more often because I am definitely doing this to give ideas to the "less is more" people. By the way, nothing wrong with the more is more people as it pertains to makeup but some of us don't look our A+ selves with more. I don't know bout you but I got to be 100, 99 and a half won't do LOL! (plays superhero music in my head and puts my fist in the air) TO THE MAKEUP!
In my opinion the only thing as bad as trying too many colors is when you do too many colors that mute each other and then you almost look monochromatic from your hair to your face. That can make you look old, it can make you look tired or just generally all around unattractive. Therefore what I did this day technically should not have worked but for some reason I felt like it would and I mean not to toot my own horn (false, I'm totally gonna toot......wail on my own horn: BEEEEEEEEEEEEP) but I was indeed right. So clearly you can see my hair is yellow, I mean you can't miss this sunshine on my head and for some reason I felt like a yellow eye and lip would just be super fly. In order for it to pop the way that I felt it was going to need (and did) I used a primer (and I'll list all the links below). I've found that primer is not always necessary especially for certain more refined brands of makeup however this day it was needed to make this color pop. I used two different yellows to add to the vibrancy. The pinkish/peachish color for my blush because you do need a different color somewhere to help bring it all together although a yellow blush may have been interesting now that I think about it LOL. I knew which lipstick I wanted to use (and did), it was a mustard color but I felt that it needed a base color to make it come alive so I took the nude color and put that on first and I'm sure some of you when you saw that was like ooooooh sis that is a no LOL and you were right but we were building our color, that's all. Once we added the mustard color it was a soft yellow which worked wonders. A bold yellow lipstick is good in theory and in photoshoots but in real life that is a sketchy scene honey no cap! I keep forgetting to mention this but my new technique when doing my eyeliner also helps. Now eyeliner really can and often does complete the cohesion of the look moreover it can be a pain because it is soooooo hard to get off. OMG! It takes me about 3 days to get it off and I don't use waterproof. I look at Caucasian womens look and the back corner of their eye along the bottom always does this smoky thing and I started studying that. I've found that they either find a slightly darker eyeshadow and put it under their eye or put eyeliner under the eye to create that darker look and I'm definitely a fan of this practice though I am clearly not a pro at this tactic. Let's dish out some links shall we.
